It was awesome having Noelle taking these photos! ...She simply used just a few buildings in the Downtown Des Moines area and Sculpture Park. Noelle moved from Fresno, California to Ames, Iowa in 2004. She swears she likes it better in the midwest, even if the closest In-N-Out Burger is 702 miles away. She graduated from Ames High School in 2005, going on to study photojournalism at Iowa State. She has been shooting professionally since 2009. She still lives in Central Iowa with her husband, Shaun, and their 200 pounds of dogs (Just two - Sophie and Bear).
Noelle specializes in emotionally captivating, personality intense photojournalism. She has a gift for storytelling, even on the most basic playdate. She focuses not so much on what you look like, but capturing who you are, why you smile, and how you do... without being invasive. “Every image has its own personality, building on that of the subjects and circumstances. It is grabbed deliberately - in the space of a breath, willfully put onto paper, and frozen forever, without the need for mittens."
